Come join us and help us build the engine for human understanding! About the Team The Business Intelligence (BI) team is responsible for the key metrics that inform the company strategy. We work closely with both the senior executive team and operational leaders to build an integrated metric framework, which gives us insight into the health of the company's core activities. This is an ever-evolving process that requires a deep understanding of the operations of each department and the ability to measure the most important leading and lagging indicators of performance. About the Role The Sr. Data Operations Engineer is a key role that will manage the foundational layer of all business intelligence initiatives, driving scale and improving information delivery. As we continue to scale the BI team, we are looking for a data operations engineer to own and further enhance reporting processes along with exploring ways to enrich underlying data sources. The data operations engineer will help manage all the datasets the BI team uses to produce metrics to measure the company's health. Beyond ensuring the validity and timeliness of this data, the data operations engineer will also provide guidance to the BI team members in terms of best data management and processing practices when creating dashboards and metrics. As UserTesting continues to grow, the data operations engineer will be responsible for anticipating the reporting needs of the company and helping scale our reporting processes accordingly. This will require strong leadership and collaboration skills within the BI team and across various functional teams. What we're looking for:
Manage and track data as it gets processed and moved from and to different sources Manage workflows and data build processes that help the BI team build key business metrics and design dashboard visualizations Troubleshoot problems with data (missing, corrupted, invalid) and build data recovery strategy Partner with data warehouse and data engineering teams to implement required data elements and attributes to enhance business, financial and customer reporting. Help improve and maintain high levels of data quality and integrity across various data sources. Act as a central control point when it comes to data change management. Develop and deploy data models in a methodical and disciplined manner to satisfy data needs of various functional teams. Continuously design the future state of our reporting process by collaborating with our Business Systems, Data Engineering, and business partner teams Work closely with other members of the BI team to better design and build metrics that enhance our analytical capabilities Provide statistical analysis on critical company data to derive insights Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources, data points, and data gathering techniques Ensure proper documentation is in place for all key financial and external reports - requirements, design reviews, UAT and approvals as required per SOX compliance Qualifications 5
years of experience in an analytical business operations role, preferably at a technology or high-growth company Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or related fields. Extensive experience writing complex SQL queries for data transformation and analysis purposes Proficient in designing and delivering story-telling insightful reports and dashboards in Tableau Expert in building data models using dbt and Snowflake Background in statistical analysis using Python Advanced data organization, analysis, and presentation skills in Microsoft Excel Comfortability working with large data sets across multiple sources, which map to complex business processes Meticulous attention to detail and an intuitive understanding of data validation Strong communication and organizational skills to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and drive an outcome Good understanding of SOX compliance and internal controls.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Business Intelligence & AnalyticsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
