Job Title ETH0012 - Lead Software EngineerOverview To drive our future growth, we need to dramatically scale our platform and build new products. We want to hire lead developers that are eager to have a significant influence on a massive technology overhaul using nothing but the best products, patterns, and practices! We believe in decoupled, message-driven, and distributed systems. We strive to keep codebases small and manageable. We're interested in reactive design patterns that will make our systems more resilient and responsive, yet remain elastic to change. As we proceed through our technology roadmap we are evaluating new community-endorsed technologies for every tier of our platform. Our backend tiers are presently JVM-based. We are using or considering technologies like Kafka, Spring Boot, Angular, Bootstrap, REST, Chef, Terraform, Openstack, Azure, Elasticsearch, NoSQL, Docker, and so on. Your Challenge:
o Assume a high level of ownership of all work developed by members of the team o Push for better Development Practices, better Code, better Solutions o Encourage discussions on software design within the team and provide constructive feedback on ideas o Be aware of individual and overall team morale o Thrive in a highly collaborative company environment where agility is paramount o Ensure high-quality code is produced by the team while employing community accepted testing principles, best practices, and tooling o Provide technical guidance, support, and mentoring to both junior and senior team members o Assist principal technologists/Architects in making architectural decisions o Ensure Software Development Best Practices are established and followed by the team o Make technology recommendations that balance business needs and technical requirements o Proactively understand stakeholder needs, goals, expectations, and viewpoints to deliver results o Effectively host technology education forums (i.e. Technology Brown Bag Session) around relevant topics for the wider organization and mentor other team members as they grow their presentation skills o Make difficult decisions without needing to rely on others, but know when to consult others What You Bring:
o Expert level experience of web development under your belt o Expert in Java and the JVM o Expert in the Spring Framework o Experience in Cloud-Native Development targeting a major Cloud Provider o Experience working with Linux Virtual Machines in a Cloud Environment o Experience with microservices architecture o Familiar with Infrastructure as code and cloud orchestration frameworks such as Chef/Terraform o Actively involved in, bringing up, and defending software design decisions o Mentor fellow Developers, share the experience, and help them get better o Worked in an Agile environment, done Scrum, can take on Scrum Master role. o Stay up-to-date with new web technologies on the front and back end through self-study, blogs, meetups, conferences, etc. o Always have quality in mind and you employ community accepted testing principles, best practices, and tooling o You push for better Development Practices, better Code, better Solutions o Thrive in a highly collaborative company environment where agility is paramount o Experience building distributed data platforms with high availability concerns and are easily horizontally scaled o Experience leading Scrum ceremoniesCOVID-19 Considerations We value the safety of each member of our community because we know we're all in this together. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
