Pratt & Whitney is home to a world-class Survivability Engineering organization. Team members work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The Survivability team is seeking a Software Methods Engineer responsible for the development, maintenance, and deployment of software tools used for simulations and data management regarding infrared and radar electromagnetic evaluation of systems, as well as physical and cyber vulnerability. You will be expected to generate a high volume of quality code and improve existing code. You will work together with engineers from these disciplines to define and improve upon new and existing software packages, both those developed in-house and those acquired from commercial or government sources. The position requires working on High Performance Computing (HPC) clusters running on Linux. This position is a home group for the P&W Engineering Development Program (EDP). In this program, you will begin in Survivability, then complete several rotations over 1-2 years inside or outside Survivability, before ultimately returning to Survivability full-time. Education &
Experience:
This is an entry-level position which requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. Preferred skills:
Linux, HPC, and SSH operations; scripting with Perl, Python, and Bash; application creation with Fortran, C++, and Java; familiarity with relevant math concepts such as the electromagnetic spectrum and Monte Carlo simulations; version control with Git; software issue management with ZenHub or Jira; comfortable with modern software best practices including changelogs, testing, and code reviews; ability to learn new skills and programming languages quickly; and ability to work with remote team members. it requires individuals to report to the office most days. The job may become hybrid on-site/remote over time depending on support of the business need. Candidate must be a US citizen, and cannot be a dual citizen. You must be able to obtain a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance by passing all 13 Adjudicative Guidelines. Candidates with an active US DoD security clearance are preferred.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
